Malaysia: Sugar demand to grow 1.9m tonnes by 2020
"The local sugar demand will be driven by the increase in sales of soft drinks and other sugar products, coupled with the growing population and a positive economic outlook." KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's sugar demand is expected to grow by three per cent a year to over 1.9 million tonnes by 2020 despite the higher prices, said Adam Tomlinson, Rabobank's International Food and Agribusiness Research
