Burundi Aims To Double Coffee Output In 5 Years -Regulator
Burundi's state coffee regulator Arfic said Monday that it aims to double the country's production in five years by replacing old and less productive trees. It will plant at least 7.5 million trees of high-yielding varieties to boost production, said Arfic general manager Evariste Ngayempore. The replanting program will boost annual output to about 50,000 metric tons from about 25,000 tons now.
