Malaysia: Average price of white pepper surges more than 10% to RM21,530 per tonne
KUCHING: Pepper prices are soaring, boosted by the tight supply globally as farmers hold back their stocks in anticipation of higher prices. The average price of domestic white pepper surged to RM21,530 per tonne on Tuesday, an increase of RM2,030 per tonne, or more than 10%, compared with 2010's highest closing price of RM19,500 per tonne.
